Abstract:
The contribution deals with the seasonal connections of prices and margins at the wholesale and retail stage.
On the level of retail, margins tend to be of the percentage type with increasing perishability of the products examined.
However, the fixed margin is dominating.
In comparison with it at the wholesale stage the composite and the percentage margin are more important.
At the wholesale as at the retail stage levelling effects of margins with regard to the transmission of prices in the channel of distribution occur.
But those phenomena seem to be more frequently associated with retailing than with wholesaling fruit and vegetables.
It is commendable to discuss the results before the background of the specific attributes of fresh fruit and vegetable products as well as the market conduct of supply and demand.
