THERMAL SCREENS FOR MEDITERRANEAN REGIONS

High velocity winds and clear skies by night compel growers to take energy-saving measures.

Maximal saving is attained through double reflective thermal screens, with systems especially designed for multispan plastics houses and, lately, for walk-in tunnels. Aluminised polyester film has revealed to be most effective thanks to its enduction qualities and its affinity to retain the aluminuim layer.

Promising results have already been achieved at the INRA Experimental Station, Alenya :

• a 50% saving on fuel consumption,
• increased early yields and equal total yields,
• no problems due to condensation.
