COMPARATIVE PERFORMANCE OF THREE SELECTIONS OF SUMMER CAULIFLOWER CULTIVAR HSI/SHU WITH CAULIFLOWER CULTIVAR LOCAL

Authors:   M. Rughoo, I. Rajkomar
Abstract:
Three selections of a summer cauliflower cv. Hsi-shu imported from Taiwan, were compared in 1982 with cauliflower cv. Local, which is grown in Mauritius as a winter crop. Trials were carried out at the Curepipe Experiment Station (super-humid zone), the Central Experiment Station, Reduit (super-humid zone), and Pamplemousses Experiment Station (sub-humid zone) and included two summer sowings in October and March and three winter sowings in April, June and August. The Hsi-shu selections gave good curd yields during the summer sowings, and had higher curd yields than cv. Local.
