Abstract:
A comparison of 5 local cultivars of onions grown at different altitudes in the leeward side of the region has shown significant variability in productivity, quality of the bulbs and their adaptability to storage.
The cultivar "Blanc", the earliest, appeared to be the least productive. "Rouge" and "Vacoa" produced superior yields.
The bulbs of "Vacoa", with rough scales, were of excellent quality.
The potential storage of this cultivar was considered to be good.
