EFFICACY OF BACTERICIDES FOR THE CONTROL OF FIRE BLIGHT OF PEAR |

| Abstract:
The need for an alternative to streptomycin for the control of fire blight has led to the testing of non-antibiotic compounds in Canada. The experimental compounds MBR 10995 and CGA 78039 were evaluated in a field efficacy trial for two years at Harrow, Ontario. Control was equal to or better than that achieved by the existing registered compound, streptomycin. La lutte contre le Feu bactérien au Canada demande que l'on dispose de produit de traitement qui ne soit pas un antibiotique. Nous avons essayé deux produits expérimentaux : MBR 10995 et CGA 78039 dans un verger de Poirier à Harrow pendant deux ans. Ces produits ont permis de lutter contre la maladie aussi bien ou mieux que la streptomycine, produit agrée au Canada. | |
