Abstract:
The distribution of the received light in a greenhouse cucumber crop is studied.
The light interception on several heights in the crop was measured and expressed as percentage of the outside irradiance.
A correction was made for the light interception by the greenhouse construction.
For the measurements in the crop a special type of long light meters was used.
Measurements were done under diffuse light conditions only.
At direct sunlight some estimations with a simple measuring staff were made.
During the growing season, an increase of the light interception was evident and a relation with the LAI was found.
From the data an extinction coefficient was calculated.
A start was made to compare the measure results with results of a calculation model.
