HEATED FLOORS WITH A FLOODED WATERING SYSTEM

Authors:   C.'t Hart, B.J. Heyna, P. van Tongeren, P. van Weel
Abstract:
Heated floors with a flooded watering system in greenhouses are constructed in the Netherlands for the cultivation and growth of vegetable plants and potplants. Constructional and heat-technical research has been done on three floor constructions, namely:
  • a concrete floor cast in situ, with heating
  • a floor with asbestos cement sheets, with heating
  • a floor with concrete tiles, with heating

At the same time heat-technical measurements have been made on two types of concrete floors, namely:

  • a reinforced concrete floor, with heating
  • a concrete floor, reinforced with steel-fibre, on foam concrete and with heating.

Several matters related to the climate regulation of and mechanization on heated floors still require a solution. With the realization of heated floors several questions emerge which require critical attention. Research on structural and heat-technical aspects has therefore been done. The first results are given next.
