Abstract:
This report presents two simple methods to predict the action of thermal mass in a greenhouse.
One method uses the complex form of the Fourier series to model greenhouse environment.
The second method uses a forward difference numerical solution of the differential equations which describe the thermal environment of a greenhouse.
In both approaches, thermal mass is considered in two parts: the floor, and a second mass more closely coupled thermally to the inside air temperature.
