THE GROWTH REGULATORS AFFECTING THE GROWTH AND FLOWERING OF ROSES

Abstract:
Uniform rose plants have been subject to monthly spray of different concentrations of Alar, GA, and Ethephon.

The most important results were:

GA applied at 120 ppm significantly increased the number of flowers per plant. The same treatment showed the longest flower stem. The number of leaves was increased by GA application.
Alar at 600 ppm significantly increased the number of flowers per plant. Alar also affected the vegetative growth.
The lower concentrations of Ethephon increased the flowering, and the vegetative growth of the plants.
