GROWTH REGULATORS AND LIGHT INTENSITY AFFECTING THE STOMATAL INDEX OF CHRYSANTHEMUM INDICUM GROWN UNDER NORMAL AND SALINE CONDITIONS

Authors:   A.E. Awad, A. Dawh, N.M. Salen
Abstract:
Chrysanthemum plants were grown under complete, 1/3 or 2/3 light intensity. Data on the stomatal index were recorded, aiming to determine the light intensity needed for normanl growth.

Chysanthemum plants were grown under saline conditions, and subjected to different concentrations of Alar, etherphon or kinetin. The same data were recorded aiming to examine the role of these growth regulators in reducing the harmful effects of salinity in this aspect.

The stomatal index was seriously affected by the light intensity, the salinity treatments and consequently the growth regulators used.
