Abstract:
Production schedules of 12 bedding plants were determined based on spring and summer market demands.
Production time varied with the ambient light intensity, temperature and photoperiod during the greenhouse phase.
For most species, the time between sowing and visible bud and between visible bud and anthesis decreased with later sowing dates.
The total flowering time of photoperiodic species was also influenced by increasing photoperiods during winter and spring production.
