INTRODUCTION FOR PRODUCTIONPLANNING

Abstract:
Productionplanning is only a part of a much more encompassing subject which is indicated as economic management of the firm.

When productionplanning still is departed as a indepent subject for a whole symposium, it is certainly because the very production in a nursery involves a serie of disciplines like biology, technique and economy, at the same time as it is the central nerve in the nursery, with derivative effects to sale, organization and economy.

Most of the nurseries can be charaterized as firms which produces and sells an assortment of relative standardize articles, which is known of the customers. The production can be arranged in relative stable specialized process, which is the same from time to time, and therefor can be arranged in optimum seriesizes.

Management of such a type of firm will have three headproblems, the activity, the capacity, and the liquidity.

Management of the activity includes questions as: which products can we sell? in which period can they be sold? in which quantity can they be sold ?.

For answering these questions the firm have to collect extern informations about supply and market conditions at the same time as it have to build up a serie of intern statistics.

Management of the activity includes questions as: which products are profitable ? how can the products be arranged in the most profitable way ?.
