Abstract:
Once the planning procedure has finished and we end up with the final LP-plan for the production in a potplant nursery, the next problem will be how to implement this plan into practice.
At the first place we make some consideration of the production in the transition periode from the present time till the day, when we are totally on the plan and follow it.
Eventually we make a special transition-plan.
Secondly the nursery must have a suitable internal organisation and a model for communicating the plan to the staff.
Thirdly the grower must consider which data from the production are to be recorded and how the plan can be controlled.
The latter can for instance be carried out in coorporation with the advisory service.
A LP-plan is a very complex and fine piece of tool, but has a number of conditions to be aware of in order to be a succes.
These are among others: the market, the sale, the price, the quality, the obtainable climate in the greenhouse, the condition of the nursery, and so on.
An optimal solution from free planning is only theoretical possible but hardly practical.
We seeks a "practical optimal" solution taking into account the above-mentioned conditions and especially the ability of the grower as a manager.
If the produktion-plan is going to be a succes, it must not be looked upon isolated, but regarded as an integrated part of the whole farm management.
