Abstract:
This paper will 1) introduce linear programming as a tool for production planning in glasshouse floriculture; 2) discuss the assumptions associated with linear programming; 3) present an example problem illustrating the objective function, constraints and solution; 4) comment on the solution procedure for the larger, general problem; 5) review advantages and limitations of LP; and 6) introduce a larger problem.
