EFFECT OF IRRIGATION INTERVALS ON YIELD AND QUALITY OF CORIANDER (CORIANDRUM SATIVUM)

Author:   Ali E. Khashmelmous
Abstract:
The effects of irrigation intervals on coriander seed yield and quality were studied under Sennar Agriculture Research Station field conditions in the heavy clays of central Sudan. Coriander (local type) was grown in late autumn (September 1981 and 1982) and in winter (November 1980 and 1981). Irrigation intervals of 5, 8, 11 and 14 days did not have any significant influence on plant growth, seed yield, weight of 1000 seeds or dry matter content of seeds. Percent of total oils and total protein content of seeds varied by irrigation intervals.
