Abstract:
For the last three years potato variety trials and fertilizer trials were carried out at Gilo in the Immatong Mountains Range of Eastern Equatoria to screen suitable varieties for seed production for the low laying areas where farmers would produce the crop.
Fertilizer trials were conducted to determine the optimum dosage of fertilizer for increased yields.
As a result 6 varieties were identified as high yielding and resistant to diseases and were recommended and released to the farmers for production.
These are Rosalin Karura, Amigo, Clone 5, Clone 4, Clone 6, Clone 3 and Annet.
Fertilizer results indicated varying significant response to N, P, K and PK interaction.
