IMPROVEMENT OF FRUIT SET IN EGGPLANTS WITH 4-CPA (TOMATOTONE) |

| Abstract:
Through the weekly application of a spray mix consisting of 20 mg/1 active ingredient 4-CPA and 500 mg/l iprodion or 500 mg/l vinchlozolin on the eggplant flower, the production becomes earlier and is increased. This occurs through an increased number of fruit and a higher average fruit weight. The colour of the fruit is sometimes favorably improved. The varieties used to the present (Adona, Berinda, Claresse and Dobrix) all react positively to this treatment, but not to the same degree. The cultivation in rockwool also results in an earlier production after application of this auxin-fungicide mix. It is possible that the total production also can be improved. | |
