Abstract:
SADH alone or mixed with CEPA, applied as a single spray, significantly inhibited elongation growth of apple tree shoots.
A mixture of SADH (1 000 ppm) and CEPA (250 pmm) retarded growth of apple shoots to the same or to an even greater extent, as compared with SADH alone at a double concentration (2 000 pmm).
The unsprayed, vigorously growing shoots differed in structure from shoots with inhibited growth.
In the upper part of the retardant - sprayed shoots, the cortex widened and the development of secondary xylem was weakened.
