| Abstract:
Agricultural and horticultural production has followed technical progress and financial development made by the rest of economy. Saving in labour has been the main factor responsible for replacement of labour intensive mechanical weed control by chemical methods. The activity of the herbicides applied for weed control remains for a certain period dependent on environmental conditions. Under unfavourable circumstances residual herbicide activity can cause damage to following crops in an intensive crop rotation. To correctly assess a particular residue situation in the soil it is necessary to have a knowledge of herbicides in the soil. | |
