Abstract:
The study presented in this report has the objective to analyse adaption processes in floricultural firms and the influencing factors they are based on.
For this purpose it was necessary to identify the factors influencing the events in firms.
They vary for different types of firms and different conditions by which they are faced.
Starting from the idea that adaption behaviour of entrepreneurs can only be explained if all influencing factors are taken into account, a model of 'the horticultural firm in its adaption situation' was developed.
The components of this model are complexes representing possibilities for adaption actions, adapting measures which are carried out, as well as those factors influencing the intensity of adaption.
These components are quantified by an explorative inquiry of entrepreneurs which made it possible to identify those factors leading to different adaption behaviour.
These factors were found in variable combinations allowing to identify different types of adaption behaviour.
