METHOD DEVELOPMENT FOR MANAGEMENT OF HORTICULTURAL FIRMS ACCORDING TO THE TEU-SYSTEM

The TEU method is a management method for business analysis and planning of horticultural firms developed by the Department of Horticultural Economics. TEU is today also the name of a commercial consultant bureau owned by the Swedish Ilorticultural Growers' Organization (TRF), which uses the TEU method.

TEU was started 1965 but is since 1974 owned by the Growers Union and an economicly self-supporting consultant bureau. TEU has previously been described in e.g. Acta Horticulturea No 25, 40, 55, 97.

The TEU system has from the start very strongly emphasized the implementation and the client/consultant relationship.

The environment of the horticultural firm is constantly changing and that makes it necessary to change and refine the method of analysing and planning the firm. Smaller changes of the methods are constantly made as practical work with the growers gives new ideas. This constant development has always been characteristic of the TEU-system.

The grower himself also changes as he learns from the work with the TEU system and the TEU-advicer. This development can be described as in this figure
