ISHS Acta Horticulturae 135: VII Symposium on Horticultural Economics, XXI IHC

ANALYSIS OF PRODUCTION METHODS IN HORTICULTURAL FARMS BASED ON EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATIONS

Authors:   H. Renz, E. Fölster
Abstract:
Numerous investigations show that cultivating conditions and working methods in horticultural farms differ widely from farm to farm, especially when the crop yield and the financial results are considered. The objective of this project is to find the reasons of the enormous variability concerning the results of growing. Furthermore it is intended to enable the grower to improve the growing methods and thus to influence the profitability of the horticultural farm favourably. These data measured in the practical horticultural farms shall serve to verify and test growth models developed on the basis of experiments. If necessary, impulses for an adaption of these models shall be given.
