Abstract:
Different cultural methods were examined in the production of Philodendron 'Red Emerald' plants from in vitro propagated plantlets.
They were grown in conventional or hydrosolaric greenhouses in soil or hydroponically.
Fastest growth was obtained in hydroponically-grown plants in the hydrosolaric greenhouse, plants in a tuff:peat medium in the hydrosolaric greenhouse were intermediate and the slowest growing plants were those in a tuff:peat medium in a conventional greenhouse.
The main contribution to rapid growth of the plants was the high relative humidity and the hydroponic growth medium.
