ANTHER AND EMBRYO CULTURE IN PELARGONIUM ZONALE-HYBRIDS |

| Abstract:
To induce haploids the possibilities of anther and embryo culture have been studied in Pelargonium zonale-hybrids. Using 47 genotypes out of a large collection the microsporogenesis has been analyzed in vivo with regard to the synchronisation of meiosis of the same bud. Anthers have been cultivated on agar media containing either the LS basic medium or a modified White's medium with low concentrations of IAA and KIN. As a prerequisite for the regeneration of haploids out of macrospores efficient embryo culture-techniques have been developed. | |
