Abstract:
Strawberry explants and propagules were grown at 12, 16, 20, 24, 28, 32 and 36°C and the effects on growth and development determined.
Maximum growth for the different developmental stages occurred at 28°C. The influence of light intensity was also evaluated using light intensities between 1 000 and 10 000 lux.
Optimum explant establishment and growth was obtained at 4 000 lux while maximum propagule growth and development occurred at 6 000 lux.
Best root initiation and development was observed at 7 000 lux.
