Abstract:
Growing tomato in light peat showed satisfactory results when re-using the peat bags three times without any sterilization.
Use of a complete nutrient solution showed an increase of phosphorus and boron from one season to the next.
The pH varied with the electrical conductivity in the peat, dependent on the nutrient concentration used.
The solution used for re-used peat should have a lower content of phosphorus and boron in proportion to a solution used for one season growing media.
The soil water suction up to 10 cm water column, showed no significant difference in volum percent water.
The air capacity was sufficient in re-used peat.
