Abstract:
Organic materials at present form the most part of the growing media used in horticulture, either fossil deposits as peat, naturally decomposed as leaf-mould or industrially composted as town refuse.
All of them offer the general property of weak cationic exchangers.
We examine their influence, as organic substrates, on the composition of the nutrient solutions : consequently, we suggest the suitable chemical preparation of these organic media.
