Abstract:
Pathogenicity of 16 smooth and rough strains of E. chrysanthemi isolated from plants of the same botanical family than Chrysanthemum (Dahlia) and other plants propagated in nurseries (Saintpaulia, Kalenchoe) is studied on Chrysanthemum cv. 'Pink Marble'.
Two inoculation technics and two inoculum levels are carried out.
Chrysanthemum responses to infection by heterologous strains (Dahlia, Saintpaulia, Kalenchoe strains) and homologous strains (Chrysanthemum strains) are compared.
Results indicate important damages with Dahlia strains and various effects with another Erwinia strains.
