Abstract:
According to Gnetum africanum Welw. the main axis grows successively with some growing arrests.
The lengtening periods take turns with growing arrests.
It has been stated that the growing arrests are due to correlation between the top leaves and the terminal bud because of the ablation of new leaves the growth keeps on, the taking out of leaves is fast and there is a creation of a short bow among cut off leaves.
There is a discussion about practical uses as far as the study of those motions is concerned.
