Abstract:
Biological properties and high quality value of apricots in Romania caused the steady incrementation of cultivated areas together with the renewing of the assortment with some varieties recently established or brought to this country.

Research workers such as: Claypool and Pangborn (1972), Bünemann (1973), Bogdan (1975), Gherghi and Millim (1980), Cociu (1981), point out that a successful maintaining of post-harvest quality with apricots depends upon a number of factors out of which someones like maturation degree at harvest time, conditioning, transportation means, storage conditions as well as variety capacity of maintaining its taste-and marketing properties as much time as is possible are most important.

This paper shows the results of the research work carried out within ICPVILF during 1978 to 1980 period purposing to find out the possibilities for maintaining in fresh state some new apricot varieties intended to increase the existing assortment.
