ISHS Acta Horticulturae 121: VII Symposium on Apricot Culture and Decline

CORRELATIONS BETWEEN LEVEL OF MINERAL NUTRITION, CHEMICAL COMPOSITION OF LEAVES AND FRUITING OF APRICOT

Authors:   P. MARINOV, M.S. MARINOV
Abstract:
Apricot, because of its valuable fruits, holds in recent years prominent place in Bulgarian horticulture. Large massives were created in the regions with most favourable climatic conditions, located in the immediate vicinity of Danube river. Control of the mineral nutrition of apricot plantations is one of the most important and urgent problems of apricot growing.

Bearing in mind that systematic studies concerning the nutritive regimen of apricot are lacking both, in this country and abroad, the aim of this study is mainly to disclose some correlations existing between level of mineral nutrition, chemical composition of leaves and biologic manifestation of apricot plants, with a view of obtaining information that might be used for improving the operative prognosticating of the need of apricot plantations for nutritive substances.
