PROBLEM OF THE APOPLEXY OF APRICOT TREES IN MACEDONIA |

| Abstract:
In Macedonia, apricots represent an old fruit culture mostly occurring in the central fruit region of Povardarie. This region contains 8% of all fruit trees in Macedonia or 17,5% of the apricot trees in Yugoslavia. The mean annual yield amounts about 22,5 kg per tree, but yields were registered up to 200–300 kg. A quantity of 2–5 kg produced apricots are distributive to each inhabitant. Owing to the multiform use of the yields for processing or in fresh state, and to the suitable economic conditions for raising plantations and placing of the products on the market, in the last decades, apricots became extremely spread. However, a higher degree of the appearance of unexpected quick partial or entire drying of the fruit trees during vegetation-apoplexy-makes their further spreading problematical. Various diametrically differing opinions exist in the world upon this disease, which we classified in two groups according to the nature of its causes: in the pathological /parasitical/ and physiological /ecological, functional or non-parasitic/ groups. | |
