INFLUENCE OF HIGH TEMPERATURE UPON MAINTAINING OF QUALITY IN GREENHOUSE TOMATOES AFTER HARVEST

Authors:   O. Iordachescu, M. Dobrescu, I. Burzo, E. Radulescu
Abstract:
Quality faults that turn up in tomatoes after harvest are due to a number of factors which are found in various steps of the production and valorizing process.

Numerous researches pointed out the importance of temperature as a factor for maintaining tomato quality after harvest.

Considering that in greenhouse cultivation tomatoes are being harvested in the season with temperatures higher than 25°C, investigations have been carried out on establishing quality alterations occurring in fruits when kept in such temperature conditions.
