Abstract:
The climate in inland regions of Australia is characterized by clear skies and a dry atmosphere.
This means an abundance of solar radiation for greenhouse heating during winter days, but large radiant heat losses at night.
A comprehensive thermal analysis of the thermal behaviour of greenhouses under such conditions is presented.
Implications for greenhouse design, particularly in relation to heating requirements, are outlined.
