Seasonal changes in the quality of cut flowers of Lilium "Enchantment" were determined.
These changes are related to, among other things, the relationship between light conditions and temperature during growth of the plants.
Vase life was improved by pretreatment of the cut flowers with silver thiosulphate after harvesting.
Prolonged dry storage of the pretreated flowers in air or in air containing ethylene did not have a harmful effect on the quality of the flowers.
Immersion of the bulbs of Lilium "Enchantment" in silver thiosulphate before planting led to improvement and stabilization of the internal quality of the harvested flowers.
Protection against the effects of dry storage and exogenous ethylene was found to be comparable for flowers from bulbs treated with silver thiosulphate before planting and flowers pretreated with silver thiosulphate after cutting.
