Abstract:
Sequence-related amplified polymorphism (SRAP) analysis was tried to apply on the identification of 45 individuals of 26 cultivars of herbaceous peony (Paeonia lactiflora Pall), which were conserved in three different gardens. Selected five out of 25 primer pairs generated a total of 49 scorable PCR fragments, of which 42 bands (85.7%) were polymorphic. All 26 cultivars were distinguishable by these bands. Some morphologically confused individuals can be identified by this analysis. Cluster analysis of SRAP markers using UPGMA analysis revealed genetic relationships among the 26 cultivars. The results indicated that SRAP markers are useful to identify germplasm collection of herbaceous peony.
