The premature dieback of apricot cultures as well as of some other fruit species of wood-stone (genus Prunoidae) is always an actuel problem.
In the whole world's production immense losses are incurred every year, caused only by one of the diseases i.e. apoplexy of the apricot cultures.
There are also periodical diseases of black cherries and cherry-trees due to water deficiency or excessive moisture causing the dieback of apricot trees.
In our Institute we are studying the influence of the pathogenic fungi on the dieback of this fruit trees.
In literature we find citations about the fact, that apricot cultures attacked by apoplexy show a damage in the main parts of conducting tissues.
Jirák5, Dvorák3, Luxova7, Erdelska4 et al., who studied the diseases and the dieback, stated besides gummification and wilting, also stopping the activity of the cambium, browning, necroses of the bark and of the bast.
In this work we wanted to cause similar symptoms by fungi on cultures of stone trees in orchards as well as to cause a reproduction of some changes under laboratory conditions.
