Abstract:
Important loss induced by Erwinia chrysanthemi occured in France on imported and French Dahlia tubers vegetatively propagated, mainly under glass, during the propagation period.
About 600 symptomless cuttings of 37 more or less sensitive cultivars are tested for the presence of Erwinia chrysanthemi using 3 methods, on basal stem pieces :
- isolation on agar plates (I),
- microscopical examination in blue light (HF),
- immunofluorescence staining (IF).
These 3 methods of investigation are compared and results discussed to propose a routine detection of infected cuttings and healthy mother plants production.
