ISHS Acta Horticulturae 109: III International Symposium on Flower Bulbs

SOME FACTORS AFFECTING THE PARASITIC AND SAPROPHYTIC ACTIVITY OF RHIZOCTONIA SOLANI

Author:   A.W. Doornik
Abstract:
Although R. solani is said to remain active in soil for a few years, data from successive plantings in naturally and artificially infested soils indicate a decrease in host infection. Soil temperature, time, and nutrition derived from host plants or added nutrients influence the pathogenicity, saprophytic activity, and persistence of the pathogen in the soil.
