Abstract:
Tomato breeding programs have generally stressed the major horticultural attributes which contribute to higher yield, however, in the past decade there has been a growing interest in fruit quality attributes which contribute to improved quality and/or case yield.
This has resulted in development of cultivars suited to specific processed products rather than multipurpose cultivars adapted to multiple processing and fresh market uses.
