ISHS Acta Horticulturae 10: Symposium of Working Group on Plum Genetics and Plum Breeding

RECENT ADVANCES ON STUDIES OF SARKA VIRUS DISEASE

Author:   M. JORDOVIC
Abstract:
It past more than 30 years from the time when sarka was found first time. During this period it was considered that this disease is distributed in Balkanian countries only. But, as the disease was found in many European countries recently, it becomes the subject of big interest of many virologists and pomologists.

Having in mind this interest, I should like to present a short review of results of some investigations, which would be interesting for the participants of this Symposium. I hope, for this occasion, it would be the most interested to present some results of studies of the epidemiology of sarka disease, resistance of some plum varieties to virus and effect of some control measures.
