Abstract:
The growing of the different kinds of Prunus domestica doesn't have, in Italy, so great importance as that of other fruit species.
So the production of plums in 1966 has only been of 1,400,000 quintals corresponding to 2.30% of the whole Italian fruit production which, in the same year, has been of 92 millions of quintals.
The following table, in which are exposed the figures of the fruit production for 1966 and their increments compared to those of the 1934–1939 period, emphasizes it clearly.
